BIRTH Doula As a birth Doula my aim is to provide reassurance, support and security to the woman in labour. I will do all I can to facilitate a labour and birth which encompasses the mother's wishes, acting as advocate if necessary. My service includes the following:- An initial meeting (free of charge) to get to know you At least 3 antenatal visits to get to know each other, discuss birth wishes etc A folder of relevant information Telephone and email contact throughout 24 hour on call support from 10 days before your due date until your baby is born Constant attendance during labour, birth and until you are settled and comfortable, usually after the first feed A postnatal visit giving you the opportunity to talk about your birth and support with breastfeeding Telephone/email support for the first six weeks after birth
POSTNATAL Doula As your postnatal Doula my aim is to provide you with support and encouragement in order to build your confidence in your new role. I will help you with breastfeeding and in any way which allows you and your new baby to bond and be together. It is my job to look after you, whilst you look after and get to know your new baby. I can help by carrying out practical chores such as preparing lunch/dinner, light shopping and helping to look after any siblings, or just being there to listen. This will enable you to get some rest, recover and spend time with your new baby.
